September 29, 2023: Candeli (FI), September 2023 – The engines are warming up at Villa La Massa, the 5-star hotel on the outskirts of Florence and part of Villa d’Este Hotels, for the three-day “Villa La Massa Excellence”, the first event conceived and created in collaboration with Canossa Events, a leading company in luxury automotive events, dedicated to high-end hospitality and the most exquisite Youngtimers, collectable supercars built after 1990.
From October 13 to 15, Villa La Massa, an architectural gem from the Medici era immersed in a 25-acre park, will serve as the exclusive rendezvous for supercar collectors from around the world. During “Villa La Massa Excellence”, the epitome of automotive elegance, engineering and power will converge with local culinary finesse and unparalleled hospitality, qualities that have long set Villa La Massa apart. This historic estate has hosted an array of celebrities, from Gregory Peck and Winston Churchill to Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, not to mention David Bowie and Iman, who chose it as their wedding venue.
The day of Saturday, October 14, will be open to the public: thanks to a special day pass (which includes Car Show, brunch in Sala Corsini, and a Car Parade), enthusiasts can experience the charm of the most beautiful cars with both a sporting pedigree and contemporary design, built after 1990, and then cast their vote for the most beautiful car, which will receive the Public Award.
During the gala evening on Saturday, October 14, the “Supercars Firenze” awards will be presented, with two categories and three winners for each: one dedicated to Youngtimer models that have driven the Evolution of the automobile, while the other honors those that have epitomized Innovation.
For the occasion, a very special international jury has been created, representing a diverse array of skills and experiences: Tomaso Trussardi, fashion and car expert; Emanuela Frattini, an internationally acclaimed architect and designer; Stephen Bayley, style guru and critic of design and architecture; Fabio Filippini, car designer and author; Stefano Guindani, fashion photographer and charity expert; Duccio Lopresto, collector and a director of RM Sotheby’s; Marco Makaus, a veteran in the automotive sector and event organizer. The jury will be chaired by Massimo Delbò, editor-in-chief of Cavallino Magazine.
