Terre di Canossa 2024, culture and refined pleasure

The role of quality tourism which, after the experience, becomes a communication and promotion tool for our country

March 22, 2024: The 2024 edition of Terre di Canossa will take place between April 18th and 21st and will celebrate the centennial anniversary of Giacomo Puccini, the great musician who was born in this region. Participating cars, the majority of which are from abroad, will be divided into four categories: “pre-war” models, those manufactured up to 1990, and, following last year’s experience, recent and contemporary supercars.

This regularity race, which holds a symbolic value for Canossa Events as it was the first ever organized by the company which has since become a global operation, spans roughly 700 kilometers across three days and also promises the very highest level of hospitality, the luxury of five-star hotels, and culinary delights that exceed expectations. The careful blend of travel distance and touristic opportunities is particularly appreciated by international participants.

In addition to the classic average speed and timed precision challenges, participants can look forward to skill trials that promise to inject the perfect dose of adrenaline into the experience.

On Friday, April 19th, following Thursday’s initial inspections and welcome dinner, competitors will tackle the challenging ascents and passes leading to Castelnuovo Garfagnana, then descend towards the enchanting city of Lucca, only to climb the mountains again, traversing Collodi, Passo del Trebbio, and Ponte del Diavolo. The day ends in Viareggio, where the event pays its first tribute to Giacomo Puccini.

Saturday 20th brings new landscapes: the marble-rich Apuan Alps, the historic Malaspina Castle, then on to the enchanting Liguria with the Cinque Terre, Portovenere, the Gulf of Poets, Montemarcello, and back to Forte dei Marmi.

Sunday 21st heads to Lake Massaciuccoli, a place dear to Puccini, and Pontedera for a unique assembly of ten thousand Vespa enthusiasts at the iconic factory of the world-renowned scooter. The journey concludes in the timeless city of Pisa and wraps up in Forte dei Marmi.

Here, an event within the event: the final skill trial will be held at La Canniccia Motor Club, a tropical garden oasis featuring a large paddock and an ideal track for the closing festivities and award ceremony. Canossa is proud to inaugurate the “New Canniccia,” a revival of the celebrated nightclub now transformed into a premiere hospitality and dining venue. A legend is reborn in the spirit of automotive passion, after years of neglect.

A comprehensive overview of the event and its charm can be found on the Terre di Canossa website, including detailed programs for each day.

Canossa, a unique style from far away. We were born in 2011 in Emilia, the only region in the world that inherited its name from a road, the 2200-year-old Roman Consular Road Via Emilia. It’s no surprise that we are mainly focused on driving experiences and automotive in general. But that’s not all. The main objectives of all of our events and activities – even the non-automotive ones – are quality and excellence.
