February 6, 2021: The Ferrari 750 Monza by Scaglietti, chassis #0428MD, selected as the “Competition” Best of Show at the Cavallino Classic Concours d’Elegance in Palm Beach (FL-USA), is one of the four finalists in the running for the sixth annual Peninsula Classics Best of The Best Award, the showcase prize reserved each year for the previous season’s most outstanding Best of Show winner.
“To see a Best of Show car from the Cavallino Classic reach the final is so gratifying, and also a testament to the qualities of our concours and the cars that take part in it”, says Luigi Orlandini, Chairman & CEO of Canossa Events.
This 750 Monza, owned by US collector Tom Peck, is the very first produced, and it was used, in its time, by some of the world’s top racing drivers, including Alfonso de Portago, Nino Farina and Froilán Gonzáles.
After its last race, in Pebble Beach in 1956, it fell out of the spotlight for sixty years, until 2016 when it was added to Peck’s collection.
The 2020 Cavallino concours provided the stage for its first public appearance following two years of careful restoration.
